We are proud to announce Casey Epstein-Gross ’21 was awarded a National Gold Medal 和 multiple regional Gold 和 Silver Keys in the 2021 Scholastic Art & 写作奖, presented by Philadelphia Writing Project. 自1923年以来, the Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists 和 writers while they were teen年龄rs, 包括Tschabalala Self, 史蒂芬·金, 凯拐杖, 查尔斯•白, 乔伊斯·卡罗尔·奥茨, 和安迪·沃霍尔.
In January Casey won four awards for her poems, one Gold Key 和 three Silver Keys. These poems have recently been published in national literary journals such as 稀薄空气杂志 和 冻土杂志.
Casey won her National Gold Medal for her critical essay, "'Looking Through the Window': Narrative Form 和 the Act of Reading as Voyeurism in Wuthering Heights." An incredible accomplishment, Casey’s award is the highest level of distinction. 在2020年计划年度, 近320,000 works were submitted to regional programs, 只有2个,900 of those works of art 和 writing receiving national recognition. Casey’s love of learning 和 profound sense of intellectual curiosity has enriched the Solebury community. Her intelligence 和 insatiable curiosity are matched by her determined work ethic.
